Why you’re still wasting money on morning coffee

Love that coffee in the morning? So do I.

But I hate wasting money too. Giving up the morning coffee shop instead of paying three or more dollars per cup is a great start, and I hope you are doing that.

After all, paying $15 a week, $60 a month, or $720 a year for your daily coffee is simply too much.

But what about your K-Cup machine? Individual cups can cost anywhere from 40 cents to over a dollar. And that’s only for an 8 oz cup.

That’s also too much. It’s also exceptionally environmentally wasteful.

Just get regular ground-up coffee and use the filter that comes with most K-cup-type machines. Then all you have to do is wash it out later. Seriously, you’re not that lazy, are you?

Putting in your own coffee gets you down to about 20–40 cents per 16-ounce cup. At the most expensive cost, you’re looking at about $2 per week or $104 per year. You’d pay at least double, if not more when you use the k-cups.

Giving up the morning coffee shop and the K-cup can leave you with about $600 for savings or investments every year. Spend wisely.

P.S. you don’t have to give up the coffee shop lifestyle. Go when you are going to stay and write that great novel. Just don’t waste money in the morning.
