I was a COVID-19 Contact tracer and here’s why you need the shot.

It’s time…

Really there is only one way to stop COVID 19… I was a COVID-19 Contact Tracer for the past year. Yes, it was me calling you and your friends/family because you were in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID. Many of you didn’t pick up the phone, even after repeated calls. But many of you did and you changed your behavior.

Staying in after being told you were in close contact with someone who had COVID saved multiple lives that you’ve never met and possibly those that are closest to you. Strangers who aren’t strangers. Someone’s Mother or Father, someone’s child, a coworker, a friend.

I’ve made the calls and found out that person died or that they are in the hospital on life support. I’ve made the calls to those who had no symptoms at all but stayed in because it was the right thing to do. Those people are heroes who most likely saved lives.

It’s time to get the shot. It’s time to get that herd immunity. It’s time for you to do the right thing for your fellow human. Can you still get COVID after taking the shot — Yes. But understand that 97% of people in the hospital right now for COVID have not gotten vaccinated. [i]

You have no excuse. You can get the vaccine for free just about anywhere in the USA. Yes FREE. All you normally have to do is make an appointment and wait in your car in a line. It couldn’t be any easier. You owe it to yourself and to others. Look at the science and not the nonsense.

Should you be forced to get vaccinated? No, and no treatment should ever be forced. But should you take it? Yes, if not for your sake, then for every other American.

I will never forget my time as a COVID Contact Tracer. We waged a daily war against the tyranny of ignorance and denial. Our victories were made one contact at a time — giving out critical information. Take the time and listen if you get the call. Cases are again rising quickly so dark days are not yet over. But united together we can overcome this.
